What is the difference of plot between AutoWisePlot and AutoCAD?
AutoCAD can batch plot drawing using the Publish command, but on order for it to do so, it will pre-defined layouts for each drawing, and is limited to plotting one drawing fpr every layout.
In comparison, AutoWisePlot requires no drawing layouts or even scale, rotation, position etc. in each drawing. In addition it can plot 2 or more drawings within each layout plus it can batch modify the printer, paper size, plot style table etc. of all your plots!
Why I get a PLT file but not a PDF file when I use PDF printer to create a PDF?
Some virtual PDF printers can provide their own path to save PDF files. Instead of selecting “Plot to file” function choose “Plot to device”. Use the “Plot to file” function when creating PLT and DWF files. Note: If output is set to virtual printer, no preview will be available when plotting.
Why I do need to set the title’s name or title’s number formatted with a Text or Mtext entity to a special layer?
When using “Plot to file” function, AutoWisePlot will look for the title’s name (or title’s number) and use it as the plot file name. This provides a convenient and automatic way to manage your plot files. Note that the Text or Mtext only can be used once within the title area. If you do not put the title’s name on a special layer or if it finds more than one title on the same layer in the title area, AutoWisePlot will default to using the “Drawing’s name - layout’s name - number” as the plot file name.
Is AutoCAD required in order for AutoWisePlot to work?
Yes, AutoWisePlot works in conjunction with AutoCAD. Please see supported versions below.
Why do I get a different print orientation every time when I use AutoWisePlot to preview or plot my drawing?
This is because the printer in the Control Panel of Windows has been modified. Go to Control Panel to correct the orientation of the paper’s default orientation.
