Many people ask .. “what are the big differences between AutoCAD LT 2006 and AutoCAD 2006?” Did you know that AutoCAD 2006 and AutoCAD LT 2006 use the same software technology? Both products even share the same DWG and DWF format.
In the recent 2006 version hatching is much more flexible, dimensioning is improved, and text editing works exactly the way you want it to. It allows seamless document sharing, full DWG file format compatibility, and overall a more closer resemblance to the full version.
A LT Comparison matrix is available at Autodesk to explain some of the key differences between each version.
Here are some features NOT available in AutoCAD LT 2006:
Many 3D functions
Customization
Dynamic Blocks
Sheet Sets
IT Manager Toolset
True color graphics and gradient fills
Note: You can View Dynamic Blocks but not create them.
There are also AutoCAD LT add-ons that can upgrade AutoCAD LT to perform much like the full version of AutoCAD. For example AutoCAD LT programs such as the new ToolboxLT and LT Toolkit Max from DRCAuto can seamlessly run Lisp and ARX applications.
If you need to upgrade AutoCAD LT from a previous version or even purchase a new copy of LT, be sure to visit our new AutoCAD LT Store. Note: Many of these products also ship for free.
