Modeling a Terrain Mesh… made easy

TerrainCAD for AutoCAD is designed to be extremely user friendly and easy to use. The plug-in adds a new command to AutoCAD called Terrain. The Terrain command has a single parameter called Search Radius. The search radius determines whether two points can be part of the same triangular face.

Creates a 3d mesh of the same region generated from contours

TerrainCAD for AutoCAD can also import a set of points from a text file containing point coordinate data along with point numbers and point descriptions. TerrainCAD for AutoCAD is powered by TerrainLib, a state of the art terrain modeling library developed by SYCODE.

Built-in smart 3d modeling

If the distance between two points is larger than the search radius then they are not connected by a face. A search radius of zero will remove the connectivity constraint and all points will be connected, however far they may be from each other.

Installation & Usage

Since TerrainCAD for AutoCAD is a plug-in for AutoCAD, it must be loaded into the AutoCAD environment before it can be used. Please follow the simple instructions in the TerrainCAD for AutoCAD ReadMe document which is copied into the installation folder. After you have loaded the plug-in file into AutoCAD open a drawing containing the set of points or import points from a text file using the ImportPoints command. Then run the Terrain command to create a terrain mesh. Software made simple!
