PDA software draws floor plans & exports to DWG.
The OrthoGraph Survey is a unique, PDA based real estate surveying software that makes inputting floor plans on-site easier, faster, and more accurate than ever.
PDA Survey Software for CAD

The package consists of two software elements: a PC component (ProjectManager) and a PDA component (Surveyor).
The Project Manager displays the logical structure and relationships of project areas in a tree-structured format. The levels progress from larger units to smaller ones (e.g., plot, building, floor level, and room name).
The Surveyor or PDA component gives you the tools to create a sketch and then measure the building. The software will also show missing measurements and recommends correcting the plan as you input.
Program Highlights
- Easily sketches floor plans
- Inserts wall openings, windows and doors
- Exports to DWG, .PDF, XLS, XML & TXT
- Outputs to 3D DWG and Google Sketchup
- Runs with Pocket PC, Windows Mobile or Windows CE
- Supports both Imperial and Metric Units
- Organizes your spaces in a hierarchic structure
- Automated graphic reporting assessment
- Connects floor plans using “floating islands” function
- Handles”ghost layers” or background drawing to snap to
- Handling objects and floor plan symbols
- Team / multi-user support
- Supports the Leica Disto A6 laser distance recorder
How it works
The surveying process consists of two phases: first, a sketch is made and second, the actual surveying and measuring takes place.
The user interface offers a wide range of tools on the PDA for making the sketch: lines can be drawn manually, angles may be specified, perpendicular and parallel lines may be drawn to existing lines, arched wall sections can be drawn, etc.
Closed areas may be modified by moving, deleting or adding corners, arching or straightening walls, and adding doors, windows and furniture items.
The speed and accuracy of the input process can also be sped up using a laser distance recorder. Leica’s Disto A6 model not only handles the surveying data but can simultaneously manage the entire surveying process.
Organizes your spaces
With the help of the OrthoGraph ProjectManager, predefined project types and level properties can be stored.
The tree-structured format largely enhances the user’s ability to view the data both during the survey and after, when analyzing the data.
The levels of the tree structure progress from larger units to smaller ones (e.g., plot, building, floor level, and room name).
The hierarchic structure shows the relationship between the elements of the floor plan as well as other drawing data.
Various zone types may also be created within each level of the tree-structure. With the help of neighboring elements you can visually distinguish and assign various characteristics to the drawing even further (e.g., tenants or organizational units can be separated; parts of an area can be separated on the basis of their wall materials, etc.).
The data entered can be textual (e.g., postal addresses), numerical (e.g., floor number, financial identification numbers), or describe distances (e.g., internal height). Not only fixed lists and marketing highlights can be used, but even images and file attachments.
Outputs 3D DWG’s
OrthoGraph Survey also supports 3D DWG output which can be created automatically from the PDA’s Surveyor utiltity. Using free applications like AutoCAD TrueView or Google Sketchup, you can later view the 3D Floor Plan.
Even more benefits
- Save Time Surveying up to three or four times faster than by hand.
- Use with free programs like DWG Trueview or Google Sketchup
- Save up to 75% as compared to the conventional surveying costs.
- Work single handed - conduct the survey accurately and quickly by yourself.
- Impressive real estate surveying easily win your customers’confidence.
- Compatible with almost all CAD and CAFM systems.
- Controlled data entry - Any errors or inaccuracy are detected right away
- Easily review the data with tree-structured data handling
- Creates accurate surveying of small spaces, rooms, and even commercial buildings.
- Multi-user support - several surveyors can work independently on different parts of the project.
- Records controlled information on-site. employ type, key, mandatory fields and fixed lists.
- Estimates wall finishing materials and provides quantities of each covering material required.
- Supports laser distance recording (Leica Disto A6) with wireless Bluetooth technology.
- CAD and CAFM support - ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Allplan CAD & ArchiFM facility management
- Outstanding flexibility - use an industrial or manual distance recorder, or measuring tape, for the surveying.
View and share data on the fly!
By using the OrthoGraph surveying software, you can prevent data from being deleted from the survey as well as inaccurate data. The data are immediately available in an electronic form, and can be checked on-site within the PDA display.
The result of the survey can be immediately read by other software or printed according to scale. The system supports the major data formats (.dwg, .xls, .xml, .pdf, .txt, etc.). In addition, direct data base connection can be established, too.
Exports to DWG and PDF too!
The survey can be saved in AutoCAD DWG format so that it can be used in virtually every architectural CAD program.
With one click you can also print scaled-down or enlarged floor plans using the built-in PDF-format reporting feature found within the OrthoGraph ProjectManager module.
If the tasks to be carried out include inventory and data gathering, the data recording function of the OrthoGraph Inventory is conveniently available.
Auto-checks for accuracy!
The findings of the survey are immediately compiled by the software in an electronic form, thereby eliminating the need for additional data recording.
Since OrthoGraph Survey monitors the entire surveying process it will immediately alerts you of any drawing errors.
Upon completion of the survey, the software shows whether all required information is entered or whether any additional measurements have to be made for clarification.
And how simple all this is in reality? Check out our video on the use of the software or download the OrthoGraph demo version!
