GENESIS Integral Object Designer (GENESIS IOD) is a 3D application tool for AutoCAD that allows the generation and design of volumes, consisted of surfaces as well as solids, using top, front and side views to input data.

GENESIS IOD features:

- The CURVED DIGITAL PROTOTYPES can be cut with GENESIS IOD into sections, that allow the generation of the cross-sectional and longitudinal templates that enable the construction of the real object.
- Generates the hollow body form of a solid carcass and provides access to design the interior.
Powerful Alternative to the AutoCAD Loft Command
AutoCAD Loft command cannot input NON PLANE frames.
Another limitation of AutoCAD Loft is that it requires that the frame and guide lines must be touching to allow the Loft to run. GENESIS IOD is more compatible, has a wider tolerance and for this will run practically always.
The algorithm used by Genesis IOD through its Guidegen command, is respectful of the proportion of the initial shape, and is based in Descriptive Geometry rules.
In this way the user can get the benefits of both applications. Genesis IOD algorithm has the power to generate complex and predictable objects, using only plane projections of the design as input (2D view). It has the ability using the AutoCAD Loft command to create Surfaces and Solid entities which can be Edited, Added, Subtracted, and Intersected with other solids.

GENESIS IOD Loft option uses the Loft AutoCAD command to create a Solid or Surface. To create this Solid or Surface it is necessary to create plane frames in the input of AutoCAD Loft.
GENESIS IOD uses perpendicular plane frames to the Genesis-Path-curve to create another series of plane frames as the correct input to AutoCAD Loft . This will allow the creation of the required Solid or Surface.
In very complex cases when it is necessary to define a volume which requires NON PLANE frames, GENESIS IOD can supply a mesh output solution,
With the intersections of the mesh with the plane cutters, the obtained cross sections are used to construct the templates as you can see in an AIRCRAFT FAIRING design and construction.
Note: In some cases when you employ GENESIS IOD GUIDEGEN or Loft to solve a object design you will not get the same result. If you only use the AutoCAD Loft command without using the GENESIS IOD GUIDEGEN command, you get less predictability and lower control in complex objects than would be generated with the Genesis IOD algorithm.
